Regulating conduct of markets; grades and classes for produce; sale of cull produce.

The Farmers' Market Authority is hereby authorized to make such rules and regulations as in its judgment may be necessary to conduct properly such farmers' market or markets, both wholesale and retail. The Farmers' Market Authority may provide experienced and competent persons to act as graders and classifiers on such markets. The Farmers' Market Authority shall have authority to prescribe and designate reasonable grades and classes for farm products, truck crops, fruits, vegetables, and fish products and to enforce the same in all markets in the state. The authority shall have power to designate separate places on any market where fruits, vegetables, truck crops, and fish products of the different classes and grades shall be handled and kept separate. The Farmers' Market Authority is hereby authorized to promulgate rules and regulations regulating or prohibiting the sale of cull produce or produce unfit for human consumption at any state farmers' market. Ripe peaches, cantaloupes, tomatoes, and other commodities of a similar nature shall not be classed as cull produce when sold in Alabama for local consumption.
