15-854. Year-round school year operation; powers and duties of superintendent of public instruction A. The superintendent of public instruction shall: 1. Prepare and distribute all necessary forms for application by any school district for state authorization for a school district year-round school year operation program. 2. Prepare and distribute all necessary budget or reporting forms which may be required for the purpose of this section and section 15-855. 3. Cooperate with and provide continued supervision of all year-round school year operation programs to determine compliance with the provisions of this section and section 15-855. B. The superintendent of public instruction may: 1. Authorize a school district with program approval for year-round school year operation to employ a fiscal year other than one beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30, and to appropriately adjust the respective budget dates. 2. Authorize and assist in arrangements for any necessary adjustments of employment contracts, the dates and respective percentages of apportionments of state aid and the student count to be based on each pupil's attendance during the respective one hundred seventy-five days or two hundred days, as applicable, of school operation, or the equivalent as approved by the superintendent of public instruction, in which the pupil is enrolled.
