15-916. Expenditure of state grant monies not included in budget If the governing board of a school district receives a grant from this state for a specific program and did not include the grant in the district's budget, the governing board may, with the approval of the county school superintendent, authorize the expenditure of the grant monies in excess of the budget by action taken at a public meeting of the governing board. Within thirty days of the action, the governing board shall notify the department of education of the amount of the expenditures authorized. The amount which the district may expend in excess of the budget is equal to the amount of the grant monies which were not included in the budget for that fiscal year.
