16-825.01. State committee; vacancy; filling of vacancy A. In counties with populations of less than five hundred thousand persons, a vacancy shall exist in the state committee when a member moves from the county from which elected. In counties with populations of five hundred thousand or more persons, a vacancy shall exist in the state committee when a member moves from the legislative district from which elected. All members must be a member of their county committee. B. In the event of a vacancy in the office of state committeeman, in counties with populations of less than five hundred thousand persons, such vacancy shall be filled by appointment made by the state chairman with the advice and consent of the county chairman of the county in which the vacancy occurred. In counties with populations of five hundred thousand or more persons, such vacancy shall be filled by appointment made by the state chairman with the advice and consent of the county chairman of the county in which the vacancy occurred and the district chairman of the district in which the vacancy occurred, and shall be filled by a person who resides in the same district in which the vacancy occurred.
