28-4845. Stolen and recovered vehicles; record and report; distribution A. The director of the department of public safety shall maintain a record of stolen and recovered vehicles. On request by any law enforcement agency of this state or of any political subdivision of this state, the director of the department of public safety shall provide the requesting agency with information in the record. On receipt by the director of the department of public safety, the information shall be forwarded to the appropriate agency of the federal government. B. Each law enforcement agency of this state or any political subdivision of this state authorized to accept stolen vehicle reports shall provide all information in the report to the director of the department of public safety immediately on receipt of the report.
