29-854. Rules of construction A. The rule that statutes in derogation of the common law are to be strictly construed does not apply to this chapter. B. The law of estoppel and the law of agency apply to this chapter. C. This chapter shall not be construed to impair the obligations of any contract existing on the effective date of this chapter nor to affect any action or proceeding begun or right accrued before that date.
