41-511. Arizona state parks board; membership; appointment; terms

A. There shall be an Arizona state parks board, which shall consist of seven members. The state land commissioner shall be a member and the remaining members, each of whom shall be a bona fide resident of the state, shall be appointed by the governor pursuant to section 38-211. The appointive members shall be selected because of their knowledge of and interest in outdoor activities, multiple use of lands, archaeology, natural resources and the value of the historical aspects of Arizona, and because of their interest in the conservation of natural resources. Not less than two of the appointive members shall be representative of the livestock industry, and one appointive member shall be professionally engaged in general recreation work.

B. Of the members first appointed, one shall serve for a term expiring the first Monday in January following the effective date of this article, and one each for terms expiring one, two, three, four and five years thereafter. Thereafter, all appointments shall be for a full term of six years and shall expire on the third Monday in January of the appropriate year.
