41-516. Exemption from standards for parkways and historic and scenic roads To ensure the protection and enhancement of the special features for historic roads, parkways and scenic roads, the department of transportation, the federal highway administration, the county or the city may allow an exemption from the standards normally applied to the construction and maintenance of the roads and parkways. Revised construction and maintenance procedures for such designated roads and parkways may be developed to reasonably provide for the safety and service of the traveling public.
