6-1252. Exemptions This chapter does not apply to: 1. Banks, savings and loan associations, collection agencies or financing or lending institutions authorized and licensed to transact business under the laws of the United States or this state. 2. Any person that is principally engaged in the retail sale of goods or services and that, either as an incident to or independently of a retail sale or service and not holding itself out to be a deferred presentment service, from time to time cashes checks, drafts or money orders for any fee or other consideration in which not more than two dollars is charged for the service.
