SECTION 1780-1784
1780. The county superintendent of schools, with the approval of
the county board of education, or the county superintendents of two
or more counties, jointly may contract with the United States, the
State of California, any city, county, city and county or any
combination thereof for the joint operation and maintenance of
programs in youth conservation and training or for assistance in
their operation and maintenance.
1781. Whenever the county superintendent of schools enters into a
contract authorized by Section 1780 he may employ youths who reside
in the county to help in carrying out the terms of the contract. The
county superintendent of schools may seek the advice of the governing
boards of districts maintaining high schools in the county to select
youth to be employed.
1782. The county superintendent of schools may with the approval of
the county board of education provide the coordination services
authorized by Section 1703 in connection with meeting the
requirements of a contract.
1783. The county superintendent is authorized to perform any
function necessary in meeting the requirements of a contract and
shall pay for the performance of such functions from funds paid by
the agency with whom he contracts, or from funds contributed under
law by other individuals or agencies.
1784. Funds received by a county superintendent of schools under a
contract entered into pursuant to Section 1780 or contributed to the
purposes of this article shall be deposited in the county school
service fund of the county. The payment for performance of necessary
functions under such a contract shall be paid from the county school
service fund of the county.
