SECTION 52256-52257
52256. Project applications shall include, in addition to criteria
established pursuant to Section 52254, at a minimum, the following:
(a) A description of the computer knowledge and skills that will
be taught to all pupils in the high school.
(b) A description of how the school will ensure access to
education technology for all disabled pupils, including the visually
impaired and the blind.
(c) An explanation of how the school will make technology integral
to curriculum, instruction, and assessment, helping teachers to
individualize the learning process.
(d) A description of the academic content and skills that will be
taught using electronic technology.
(e) An explanation of how the project will integrate existing
hardware and software in the high school with new hardware and
software purchased through this project.
(f) A list of the hardware and software specifications and the
infrastructure needs of the campus.
(g) A description of the role of private businesses, postsecondary
education institutions, parents, the community, and other interested
parties in developing and supporting the plan.
(h) An explanation of how the school will work collaboratively
with the private sector and institutions of higher education to
design, develop, and distribute interactive multimedia instructional
materials over local- and wide-area networks, including the Internet.
(i) Objectives and plans for staff training and curriculum
development during the installation phase and for ongoing staff
training.
(j) Plans for ongoing system support and development.
(k) A comprehensive project plan, including an explanation of how
the project will assure linkages to higher education segments,
assurances that the electronic equipment will be compatible with
state-level standards, and a project budget containing one-time and
recurring costs and matching resources.
(l) A plan for evaluating the effectiveness of the project in
meeting the goals related to computer knowledge and skills and
academic achievement.
52257. For the purposes of the Digital High School Education
Technology Grant Program, "school district" includes charter schools
established pursuant to Part 26.8 (commencing with Section 47600)
that meet the requirements of this chapter.
