SECTION 18351-18353
18351. Unless the context otherwise requires, the definitions in
this article govern the construction of this chapter.
18352. "Packer" means any person that is engaged in any of the
following businesses:
(a) Buying livestock in commerce for purposes of slaughter.
(b) Manufacturing or preparing any meat or meat food product for
sale or shipment in commerce.
(c) Manufacturing or preparing any livestock product for sale or
shipment in commerce.
18353. "Stockyard" means any place, establishment, or facility
commonly known as stockyards, conducted, or operated for compensation
or profit as a public market, consisting of pens, or other
inclosures, and their appurtenances, in which live cattle, sheep,
swine, horses, mules, or goats, are received, held, or kept for sale
or shipment in commerce.
