SECTION 1190-1195
1190. All assistants, deputies, and other subordinate officers,
whose appointments are not otherwise provided for, shall be appointed
by the officer or body to whom they are respectively subordinate.
1191. When not otherwise provided for, the appointment of deputies
and other subordinate officers shall be made in writing and filed in
the office of the appointing power or the office of its clerk.
1192. When not otherwise provided for, within 10 days after
receiving notice of their appointment, deputies and other subordinate
officers shall take and file an oath in the manner required of their
principals.
1193. When the number of deputies or other subordinate officers is
not fixed by law, it is limited only by the discretion of the
appointing power.
1194. When not otherwise provided for, each deputy possesses the
powers and may perform the duties attached by law to the office of
his principal.
1195. Every officer of the State, or of any county, city, or
judicial district who accepts, keeps, retains or diverts for his own
use or the use of any other person any part of the salary or fees
allowed by law to his deputy, or other subordinate officer, is guilty
of a felony.
