SECTION 26620-26624
26620. The office of county director of emergency services shall be
held ex officio by the county sheriff.
26621. The county director of emergency services shall have the
duties prescribed by state law and executive order, the California
Disaster and Civil Defense Master Mutual Aid Agreement, mutual aid
operational plans adopted pursuant thereto, and by county ordinances
and resolutions.
26622. The provisions of this article shall become operative in any
county only upon their adoption by a resolution passed by unanimous
vote of the board of supervisors thereof at a regular meeting at
which all members are present. Such resolution may be repealed by the
board of supervisors at any time by a three-fifths vote.
26623. In the event the board of supervisors elects to require that
the sheriff perform the additional services authorized by this
article it shall have the authority and it shall be its duty to
provide by proper appropriations for any additional personnel,
equipment, supplies or expenses made necessary thereby.
26624. In the event the board of supervisors elects to make the
provisions of this chapter operative, it may provide for the payment
to the county director of emergency services of such compensation as
it may deem proper. The board of supervisors may elect to provide
such compensation upon consolidation of such offices or at any time
thereafter. Such compensation may be increased or reduced by action
of the board of supervisors and is in addition to any other
compensation provided by law.
