SECTION 15510-15514

15510. The director shall administer the provisions of this chapter
and shall adopt such rules and regulations as are necessary to carry
out the provisions of this chapter.

15511. The county welfare department shall carry out the local
administrative responsibilities of this chapter, subject to the
supervision of the department and to rules and regulations adopted by
the department.

15512. Application for supplemental food shall be made to the
county welfare agency who shall determine program eligibility.

15513. The county welfare department shall contract with the local
health department to determine the need of eligible persons for the
nutrients in supplemental food and the local health department shall
issue prescriptions for such food in specified amounts and varieties
judged necessary for such persons health.

15514. The California State Education Agency for Surplus Property
shall procure, store, handle, and dispose of supplemental food under
rules and regulations of the department established pursuant to this
chapter.
