      Sec. 10-291a. Code compliance improvements not required in certain situations. Notwithstanding the provisions of this chapter, in the case of a school building project to expand an existing school building, the State Board of Education shall not require code compliance improvements to the existing part of the building not affected by the project as a condition of reimbursement for the project under this chapter.
