      Sec. 12-102. Taxing of woodland. The assessors of any town wherein woodland 
or land suitable for forest planting is situated, which the owner thereof seeks to have 
classified under the provisions of section 12-96, shall examine such land and give the 
owner thereof a sworn statement giving separately the value of the land and the value 
of the timber thereon. If such owner files written application with the assessors on or 
before September thirtieth in any year, such statement shall be furnished him on or 
before the first day of November following. Such land shall be placed in the list for such 
year at the value so placed upon it by the assessors, provided classification in accordance 
with the provisions of sections 12-96 to 12-100, inclusive, shall be granted by the State 
Forester prior to the completion and filing of such list by the assessors.
