Sec. 13a-133. Contracts with railroads where tracks to be altered. Advancement of funds.
Sec. 13a-133. Contracts with railroads where tracks to be altered. Advancement of funds. The commissioner may enter into agreements with railroad corporations
for the purpose of performing any work which may be necessary in connection with the
construction of highways, bridges and other public works undertaken by the Department
of Transportation whenever such construction or work would entail relocation, alteration
or other work on the tracks, bridges or other property of such corporations. Any such
agreement, subject to the approval of the State Treasurer, may provide for the monthly
advancement of funds to a special bank account administered jointly by the railroad
corporations and the State Treasurer, for the purpose of covering the cost of such work,
whenever it appears that otherwise delay would result in the reasonable progress of such
work which would unreasonably obstruct and impede the construction of highways and
disrupt the free flow of public transportation.
