Sec. 13b-4c. Certifications re transportation programs for elderly or handicapped.

      Sec. 13b-4c. Certifications re transportation programs for elderly or handicapped. Notwithstanding any section of the general statutes to the contrary, no state agency, other than the Department of Transportation, shall expend funds in support of, or make state property available for use in, any transportation program for the elderly or the handicapped unless the Commissioner of Transportation certifies, in writing, that: (1) The commissioner has reviewed and concurs in such expenditure or use; (2) such expenditure or use is consistent with the transportation policies of the state; and (3) such expenditure or use will not result in the unnecessary duplication of service. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any transportation service not available to the general public that is provided by any such program.

      History: P.A. 02-123 made a technical change for purposes of gender neutrality and exempted from provisions of section any transportation service not available to the general public, effective June 7, 2002.
