      Sec. 17b-806. (Formerly Sec. 17-621). Homefinders program. (a) The Commissioner of Social Services shall establish and administer a homefinders program, which includes participation by housing authorities, to assist families including recipients of temporary family assistance who are homeless or in imminent danger of eviction or foreclosure. The commissioner shall administer the program within available appropriations.

      (b) The Commissioner of Social Services may adopt regulations in accordance with chapter 54 to carry out the purposes of this section.

(a) to require that program be administered within available appropriations; P.A. 93-262 authorized substitution of commissioner and department of social services for commissioner and department of human resources, effective July 1, 1993; Sec. 17-621 transferred to Sec. 17b-806 in 1995; June 18 Sp. Sess. P.A. 97-2 replaced a reference to aid to families with dependent children with temporary family assistance, effective July 1, 1997.
