Sec. 20-222c. Transfer of ownership. Notice requirements.
Sec. 20-222c. Transfer of ownership. Notice requirements. Upon the transfer
of more than a fifty per cent ownership share, discontinuance or termination of a funeral
service business, the person, firm, partnership or corporation to whom the inspection
certificate has been issued shall:
(1) Notify each person who has purchased a prepaid funeral contract from such
funeral service business of such transfer, discontinuance or termination;
(2) Mail a letter to each person for whom the funeral service business is storing
cremated remains notifying such person of such transfer, discontinuance or termination; and
(3) Provide the Department of Public Health with a notice of such transfer, discontinuance or termination and a list of all unclaimed cremated remains held by the funeral
service business at the time of such transfer, discontinuance or termination not later
than ten days after any such transfer, discontinuance or termination.
