      Sec. 21a-136. (Formerly Sec. 19-270). License. The Commissioner of Consumer 
Protection is authorized to issue licenses for the business of bottling water and manufacturing and bottling beverages for the purpose of sale, upon application therefor by any 
person, firm or corporation, which application shall be in writing, signed by the applicant, and shall describe the person to be licensed and the place where such manufacturing 
or bottling is to be carried on, and no person, firm or corporation shall engage in such 
business without having secured such a license.

      History: 1959 act replaced commissioner of food and drugs with commissioner of consumer protection; Sec. 19-270 
transferred to Sec. 21a-136 in 1983; June 30 Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6 replaced Commissioner of Consumer Protection with 
Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective July 1, 2004; P.A. 04-189 repealed Sec. 146 of June 30 
Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6, thereby reversing the merger of the Departments of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective
