Sec. 22-265a. Payments to dairy farmers to offset low milk prices.

      Sec. 22-265a. Payments to dairy farmers to offset low milk prices. The Department of Agriculture shall, within available appropriations, make payments, in such manner as determined by the Commissioner of Agriculture, to dairy farmers operating in this state to offset the low milk prices paid to such farmers during the period from January 1, 2006, to December 31, 2006, inclusive. The commissioner shall calculate any payment made to a dairy farmer under this section on the basis of the amount of milk produced by such farmer during said period.
