      Sec. 36a-236. (Formerly Sec. 36-50). Final distribution of receivership accounts. Within sixty days after all the assets of the receivership have been converted into money, the receiver shall apply to the superior court having jurisdiction for an order for the final disposition of the money on hand. The court shall fix a time and place of hearing on such application and order notice thereof by publication in such manner as the court deems reasonable. At such hearing the court shall examine the accounts of the receiver and, on finding the accounts correct and lawful, shall ascertain the balance on hand and direct the distribution of such balance according to law. The court shall prescribe the place of payment and the time within which the payment may be called for. After the expiration of such time such property not called for shall be presumed abandoned and shall be disposed of according to the provisions of part III of chapter 32.

      History: 1961 escheats act (part III, ch. 32) amended this section for conformity. Effective January 1, 1962; P.A. 91-357 deleted obsolete language re judge of the superior court; P.A. 94-122 made technical changes, effective January 1, 1995; Sec. 36-50 transferred to Sec. 36a-236 in 1995.
