      Sec. 41-49. Issue of duplicate bills not so marked. Any officer, agent or servant of a carrier, who, with intent to defraud, issues or aids in issuing a duplicate or additional negotiable bill for goods which constitutes an overissue and upon which the carrier may be liable under section 42a-7-402, knowing that a former negotiable bill for the same goods or any part thereof is outstanding and uncancelled, shall, for each offense, be fined not more than five thousand dollars or imprisoned not more than five years or both.
