Sec. 46b-212x. Nondisclosure of information in exceptional circumstances.

      Sec. 46b-212x. Nondisclosure of information in exceptional circumstances. If a party alleges in an affidavit or a pleading under oath that the health, safety or liberty of a party or child would be jeopardized by disclosure of specific identifying information, such identifying information shall be sealed and may not be disclosed to the other party or the public unless ordered by a tribunal. After a hearing in which a tribunal takes into consideration the health, safety or liberty of the party or child, the tribunal may order disclosure of any information that the tribunal determines to be in the interest of justice.

      History: June 18 Sp. Sess. P.A. 97-1 effective January 1, 1998; P.A. 07-247 replaced existing section with provisions requiring that if party alleges in affidavit or pleading, under oath, that the welfare of a party or child would be jeopardized by disclosure of specific identifying information, the information shall be sealed and not disclosed unless subsequently ordered to be disclosed by a tribunal, effective January 1, 2008.
