Sec. 51-57. Superior Court clerks. Oath. Full-time duties. Criminal defense
prohibited. (a) Each clerk of the Superior Court shall, before entering on the duties of
his office, be sworn to the faithful performance of his duties.
(b) Each clerk and assistant clerk, except temporary or part-time assistant clerks,
shall devote his entire time to the duties of his office.
(c) No clerk of the Superior Court may defend, counsel, advise or act as attorney
for any defendant in any criminal action or otherwise engage in the private practice of
criminal law.
