Sec. 7-233t. Exemption from jurisdiction of Department of Public Utility Control.

      Sec. 7-233t. Exemption from jurisdiction of Department of Public Utility Control. A municipal electric energy cooperative created pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be exempt from the jurisdiction and control of the Department of Public Utility Control of this state, except to the extent municipal electric utilities are subject to the Department of Public Utility Control as of the date of the formation of the municipal cooperative.

      History: P.A. 76-237 made it clear newly created energy cooperatives subject to public utilities control authority to the extent others are at the time each is created, deleting provision that they be subject to authority as others are "presently"; P.A. 77-614 substituted division of public utility control within the department of business regulation for public utilities control authority, effective January 1, 1979; P.A. 80-482 substituted department of public utility control for division and deleted reference to abolished department of business regulation.
