817.17 Wrongful use of city name.

No person or persons engaged in manufacturing in this state, shall cause to be printed, stamped, marked, engraved or branded, upon any of the articles manufactured by them, or on any of the boxes, packages, or bands containing such manufactured articles, the name of any city in the state, other than that in which said articles are manufactured; provided, that nothing in this section shall prohibit any person from offering for sale any goods having marked thereon the name of any city in Florida other than that in which said goods were manufactured, if there be no manufactory of similar goods in the city the name of which is used.
