1012.25 School officers to turn over money and property to successors.

Every school officer shall turn over to his or her successor or successors in office, on retiring, all books, papers, documents, records, funds, money, and property of whatever kind which the officer may have acquired, received, and held by virtue of his or her office and shall take full receipt for them from his or her successor and shall make in correct form all reports required by the state. No school officer who receives any salary or compensation for his or her services shall be entitled to be paid or compensated for the last month served until the provisions of this section have been fully observed. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall forfeit his or her compensation for the last month served and commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
