255.562 Project completion.

   (1) Upon completion of an abatement project, but prior to the dismantling of containment barriers, the asbestos contractor shall advise the consultant and the appropriate regional asbestos program manager that the project is complete except for the dismantling of containment barriers. Upon notification of project completion, the consultant shall conduct a visual inspection of the work area for evidence of incomplete abatement and for dust and debris prior to authorizing testing for airborne asbestos.

   (2) The abatement contract may be declared complete if the final clearance air sampling indicates the presence of 0.01 or less asbestos structures per cubic centimeter in accordance with monitoring requirements prescribed by rules of the 1Department of Labor and Employment Security.
