589.28 County commissions or municipalities authorized to cooperate with Division of Forestry.

County commissions or municipalities are authorized to cooperate with the Division of Forestry of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in providing assistance in forestry and forest-related knowledge and skills to stimulate the production of timber wealth through the proper use of forest land and to protect and improve the beauty of urban and suburban areas by helping to create in them an attractive and healthy environment through the proper use of trees and related plant associations. County commissions or municipalities are hereby authorized to appropriate funds and enter into cooperative agreements with the Division of Forestry under the terms and conditions set forth in ss. 589.28-589.34.
