24-9-43. Disclosure of medical records -- Use of medical matter so disclosed

Persons to whom confidential or privileged medical matter is disclosed in the circumstances described in Code Section 24-9-42 shall utilize such matter only in connection with the purpose or purposes of such disclosure and thereafter shall keep such matter in confidence. However, nothing in Code Sections 24-9-41 and 24-9-42, this Code section, and Code Sections 24-9-44 and 24-9-45 shall prohibit the use of such matter where otherwise authorized by law.
