   40-10-4.    Director designated Governor's highway safety representative; appointment; responsibilities of office 
      There  is created within the executive department the Office of Highway  Safety. The Office of Highway Safety is assigned to the Department of  Public Safety for administrative purposes only as provided in Code  Section 50-4-3. The director of the Office of Highway Safety is  designated the Governor's highway safety representative and shall be  appointed by the Governor and serve at his pleasure.
