   40-2-10.    Voluntary cancellation of vehicle registration 
      A  vehicle registrant may voluntarily cancel the registration on a vehicle  when such vehicle is not in use for any reason, including without  limitation if the vehicle is stolen, repossessed but not redeemed by the  registrant, junked, inoperable, in storage, used seasonally for  agricultural or other purposes, or if the owner is on active duty in the  armed forces of the United States and is transferred to a duty station  away from the location of the vehicle or is on active sea duty.
