53-2-46. (Pre-1998 Probate Code) Competency of interpreter
When an interpreter is necessary to convey the wishes of the testator to the scrivener or to the witnesses, the interpreter shall be a person who is competent to be a witness. He shall testify or give evidence when the will is offered for probate, if he is within the jurisdiction of the court.
