720 ILCS 360/ Telephone Line Interference Act.

    (720 ILCS 360/1) (from Ch. 134, par. 15a)
    Sec. 1. Any person who wilfully and maliciously displaces, removes, injures or destroys any telegraph or telephone line, wire, cable, pole or conduit, belonging to another, or the material or property appurtenant thereto, or maliciously and wilfully cuts, breaks, taps, or makes any connection with any telegraph or telephone line, wire, cable or instrument belonging to another, or maliciously and wilfully reads, takes or copies any message, communication or report intended for another passing over any such telegraph line, wire or cable, in this State; or who wilfully and maliciously prevents, obstructs or delays by any means or contrivance whatsoever, the sending, transmission, conveyance or delivery, in this State of any message, communication or report by or through any telegraph or telephone line, wire or cable; or who uses any apparatus to unlawfully do or cause to be done any of the acts hereinbefore mentioned; or who aids, agrees with, employs or conspires with any person or persons to unlawfully do, or permit or cause to be done, any of the acts hereinbefore mentioned, shall be deemed guilty of a Class A misdemeanor; provided, however, that (a) a second conviction of an offense under this Section, (b) an offense committed for remuneration, or (c) an offense involving damage or destruction of property in an amount in excess of $300 is a Class 4 felony.
