12.16 - SWAMPLAND INDEMNITY. - Iowa Statutes

12.16 SWAMPLAND INDEMNITY. All swampland indemnity money paid by the federal government to this state under any Act of Congress relating thereto shall be paid by the treasurer of state to the county treasurer of the county where the land, on account of which such payment is made, is located. The county treasurer shall be liable on a bond for the safe custody of said funds and shall promptly notify the board of supervisors of the receipt thereof.
