490A.1404 NAME. A certificate of authority shall not be issued to a foreign limited liability company unless the name of the limited liability company satisfies the requirements of section 490A.401. To obtain or maintain a certificate of authority, the company shall comply with the following: 1. The foreign limited liability company shall add the words "Limited Company" or the abbreviation "L.C." to its name for use in this state. 2. If its real name is unavailable in this state, the foreign limited liability company shall use a fictitious name that is available, and which satisfies the requirements of section 490A.401, and shall inform the secretary of state of the fictitious name.          Section History: Recent Form 92 Acts, ch 1151, § 78; 94 Acts, ch 1023, §59; 2006 Acts, ch 1089, §35
