99G.5 - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER.
99G.5 CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER.
The chief executive officer of the authority shall be appointed by
the governor subject to confirmation by the senate and shall serve a
four-year term of office beginning and ending as provided in section
69.19. The chief executive officer shall be qualified by training
and experience to manage a lottery. The governor may remove the
chief executive officer for malfeasance in office, or for any cause
that renders the chief executive officer ineligible, incapable, or
unfit to discharge the duties of the office. Compensation and
employment terms of the chief executive officer shall be set by the
governor, taking into consideration the officer's level of education
and experience, as well as the success of the lottery. The chief
executive officer shall be an employee of the authority and shall
direct the day-to-day operations and management of the authority and
be vested with such powers and duties as specified by the board and
