135A.3 GOVERNMENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM MODERNIZATION -- LEAD AGENCY. 1. The department is designated as the lead agency in this state to administer this chapter. 2. The department, in collaboration with the governmental public health advisory council and the governmental public health evaluation committee, shall coordinate implementation of this chapter including but not limited to the voluntary accreditation of designated local public health agencies and the department in accordance with the Iowa public health standards.
