166D.6 REPORTING OF TEST RESULTS.
All tests under this chapter must be taken by a test administered
by a licensed veterinarian. Test samples are to be collected by or
under the direction of the department and a licensed veterinarian.
If the test is determined by a laboratory located outside the state
of Iowa, the person whose animal has been tested shall be responsible
for assuring that the result is reported to the department within
fourteen days following completion of the test. Swine sampled shall
be identified with a numbered metal ear tag. The department shall
make the ear tags available. Ear notches or other numbered
identification methods approved by the department may be used at the
herd owner's expense.
Test results shall be reported on forms prescribed by the
department signed by the veterinarian and transmitted to the
department within fourteen days following completion of the tests.
Copies shall be made available to the attending veterinarian. Upon
receipt, the attending veterinarian shall provide copies to the herd
