206.24 AGRICULTURAL INITIATIVE. A program of education and demonstration in the area of the agricultural use of fertilizers and pesticides shall be initiated by the secretary of agriculture on July 1, 1987. The secretary shall coordinate the activities of the state regarding this program. Education and demonstration programs shall promote the widespread adoption of management practices which protect groundwater. The programs may include but are not limited to programs targeted toward the individual farm owner or operator, high school and college students, and groundwater users, in the areas of best management practices, current research findings, and health impacts. Emphasis shall be given to programs which enable these persons to demonstrate best management practices to their peers.          Section History: Recent Form 87 Acts, ch 225, § 226
