341A.13 VACANT POSITIONS FILLED. Whenever a position in the classified service is to be filled, the sheriff shall notify the commission of that fact, and the commission shall certify the names and addresses of the ten candidates standing highest on the eligibility list for the class or grade for the position to be filled. The sheriff shall appoint one of the ten persons so certified, and the appointment shall be deemed permanent.          Section History: Early Form [C75, 77, 79, 81, § 341A.13]
