376.4A CHANGE TO DIRECT ELECTION OF MAYOR -- NOMINATION PETITION SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS. 1. If there is a change in government pursuant to section 372.6, subsection 2, the number of signatures required on a nomination petition for the office of mayor for the first election that office is on the ballot shall be an amount equal to the product of the following: a. The total number of votes cast for at-large city council offices at the last regular city election divided by the number of city council seats to be filled at the last regular city election. b. Two hundredths. 2.
