      20-2614.   Appointment of successor upon retirement of justice or judge.When a justice of the supreme court, or judge of the district court,becomes retired under the provisions of this act said judge shall be relievedof further active duties on the court, and the governor may appoint a justiceor judge to succeed said judge as when a vacancy exists on that court.
