Article 37.--RELEASE PROCEDURES

      22-3711.   Certain records privileged.The presentence report, the preparole report, the pre-postrelease supervisionreport and the supervisionhistory, obtained in the discharge of official duty by any member oremployee of the Kansas parole board or any employee of the department ofcorrections, shall be privileged and shall not be discloseddirectly or indirectly to anyone other than the paroleboard, the judge, theattorney general or others entitled to receive the information, exceptthat the parole board, secretary of corrections or courtmay permit the inspection ofthe report or parts of it by the defendant, inmate,defendant's or inmate's attorneyor other person having a proper interest in it, whenever the bestinterest or welfare of a particular defendant orinmate makes the actiondesirable or helpful.
