Chapter 23.--DOMESTIC RELATIONS Article 1.--MARRIAGE

      23-116.   Validation of certain marriages; performance of marriage byBaha'is assembly.(a) All marriages solemnizedamong the society called Friends, or Quakers, in the form previouslypracticed and in use in their meetings shall be good and valid and shallnot be construed as affected by any of the foregoing provisions of thisact. All marriages previously solemnized inthis state by that society, in accordance withits forms and usage, arehereby declared legal and valid.

      (b)   A local spiritualassembly of the Baha'is or representative members of thatassembly, according to theusage of their religious community, as defined in the declaration of trustand bylaws of the national spiritual assembly of the Baha'is of the UnitedStates and bylaws of a local spiritual assembly may perform and witness themarriage ceremony in this state and certify on the back of thelicense the facts of the marriage and its date.

      (c)   Any marriage ceremony performed prior to the effectivedate of this act and certified by any person who had been issued acertificate of election as justice of the peace and the resulting marriageare hereby declared legal and valid.
