Part 6.--ENFORCEMENT AND MODIFICATION OF SUPPORT ORDER AFTER REGISTRATION
Article 9.--UNIFORM INTERSTATE FAMILY SUPPORT ACT

      23-9,606.   Procedure to contest validity or enforcement of registeredorder.(a) A nonregistering party seeking to contest the validity orenforcement of a registered order in this state shall request a hearing within20 days after the date of mailing or personal service of notice of theregistration. The nonregistering party may seek to vacate the registration,to assert any defense to an allegation of noncompliance with the registeredorder, or to contest the remedies beingsought or the amount of any alleged arrearages pursuant to K.S.A. 23-9,607and amendments thereto (contest of registration or enforcement).

      (b)   If the nonregistering party fails to contest the validity or enforcementof the registered order in a timely manner, the order is confirmed by operationof law.

      (c)   If a nonregistering party requests a hearing to contest the validity orenforcement of the registered order, the registering tribunal shall schedulethe matter for hearing and give notice to the partiesofthe date, time and place of the hearing.
