      23-9,701.   Proceeding to determine parentage.(a) A tribunal of this state may serve as an initiating orresponding tribunal in a proceeding brought under this act or a lawsubstantially similar to this act, the uniform reciprocal enforcement ofsupport act, or the revised uniform reciprocal enforcement of support act todetermine that the petitioner is a parent of a particular child or to determinethat a respondent is a parent of that child.

      (b)   In a proceeding to determine parentage, a responding tribunal of thisstate shall apply the Kansas parentage act, K.S.A. 38-1110 et seq. andamendments thereto, and the rules of this state on choice of law.
